Barro Lagoon

The head of a high mountain valley, where the Cuerda de la Dehesa is located, with the crest of the Tajo de los Machos. A small plateau is formed, an old glacial cirque, in which this lagoon appears at 2,984 metres above sea level. We have, therefore, a landscape of glacial and periglacial morphology, with morainic deposits, scree, small cirques, etc. The endemic hydrophilic flora in the environment is also noteworthy.
Location
It is at the head of the Lanjarón River, right where it is born, which is why it is also known as the "Lanjarón Lagoon".
Seasonal use
All year round, depending on the activity you wish to do.
Noteworthy values
Those related to the interpretation of the glacial landscape, since remains of its most characteristic elements appear. Furthermore, it shares the values of high mountains, with the presence of specific fauna and flora, among which it is worth highlighting the large number of endemic flora of these peaks, and of course the always attractive and frequent presence of the mountain goat.
