Headwaters of the river Lanjarón

We are at the head of a high mountain river valley located at more than 3000 metres above sea level, which takes the form of the snow-filled niche that it once was, and which is now used by the filtered waters from the central siliceous core of Sierra Nevada, thus serving as a natural drain for the lagoons of glacial origin. That is why the lagoon from which the Lanjarón River originates appears here.

Location

At the northernmost end of the municipal area, where the imaginary triangle that it forms closes. It is located between the crests of the Dehesa mountain range (to the N-NW), and the last foothills of the Tajos de los Machos to the E.

Suitable season

All year round. However, depending on the time of year it would be valid for carrying out one or other activities.

Outstanding values
