Municipal Library

The Lanjarón Municipal Public Library is a public library, owned by the municipality and managed by the Lanjarón City Council. Its mission is to satisfy the information, training, leisure and cultural needs of all its users through a collection of materials in various formats that, when properly organised, allow their use. It also provides assistance in the use of its resources and is concerned with the constant renewal of the collection, always taking into account suggestions and recommendations. Its mission is also to safeguard and disseminate the local bibliographic heritage.
The Lanjarón Municipal Library opened its doors in June 1989, with Mr. Francisco Vega Morata as Mayor and Mr. Francisco Gálvez as Councillor for Culture. Since its inauguration, the Library has always been located in the building called the House of Culture, sharing the building with the Multipurpose Hall, the Lanjarón Musical Association and the Pensioners' Home.
