Lanjaron Castle

Fortified enclosure with a quadrangular floor plan, built of wide adobe and stonework. The “Donjon” type keep stands out on one of its sides. It has walls without towers, wide battlements, few barbicans, pointed arches at the entrance to the enclosure and loopholes facing where the danger was (the Alpujarra road). Inside, the space intended for a cistern for self-supply can be seen embedded in the ground.
Location
Located to the southwest of the town centre. On a limestone hill that appears between the confluence of the Barranco del Salado and the Lanjarón river.
